Mario Lavallée
Mario has been driven by a desire to make finance more accessible for over 30 years, combining academic expertise with hands-on experience. Whether it’s portfolio management, financial markets, pension plans or economic analysis, he has a talent for breaking down complex topics and turning them into clear, relevant messages for a wide range of audiences.
A professor in the Department of Finance at Université de Sherbrooke, Mario teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has coordinated the University’s Student Investment Fund for more than 10 years. His career has also taken him into the private sector, including roles as Senior Vice-President at Aon Hewitt, consultant with AlphaFixe Capital and President of Finlab. This combination of academic and industry experience gives him both a rigorous and practical perspective on financial and economic issues.
Mario holds a PhD in Finance and Economics from New York University, as well as a master’s degree in Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université de Sherbrooke. As a Financial Communications Consultant with Exponentiel, he brings his expertise to mandates that require making sense of financial issues, identifying what matters most and communicating it clearly to the audiences that need to understand it.
