Mathieu Lavallée

With a multidisciplinary background in law, media, and economics, Mathieu Lavallée excels at decoding trends and turning complexity into clear, strategic solutions. A recognized strategist known for his sharp analysis and compelling writing, he anticipates issues and makes them accessible to support informed decision-making.

Mathieu is a trusted advisor for sensitive mandates in public affairs and issue management. Throughout his career, he has supported organizations across a wide range of sectors—including natural resources, energy, information and clean technologies, retail, finance, and investment—in their strategic communications efforts.

Before joining Exponentiel as a Partner in 2018, Mathieu spent more than five years at TACT Intelligence-conseil. He previously worked as an economics journalist for Canal Argent (Groupe TVA) and Les Affaires. A member of the Barreau du Québec, he also practised law in municipal affairs, housing cooperatives, and class actions.

Deeply involved in his community, Mathieu has served on the board of Trajectoire Québec since 2018 and chaired the organization from 2022 to 2025. He also sat on the board of the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal after leading its public affairs committee, and co-founded MediaCamp in 2010 to explore the challenges facing the media industry.

Mathieu holds a Bachelor of Law and a Certificate in Journalism from Université de Montréal, and is a member of the Barreau du Québec.

Justice—and access to justice—are core values for Mathieu, rooted in his legal background. He is also passionate about sustainable mobility, which led him to get involved with Trajectoire Québec, an organization dedicated to representing citizens and promoting their interests in public transit across the province.
